During an emergency the Primary Control
Group is assembled to make the policy and administrative decisions relevant to
the emergency. The Primary Control Group is made up of the following
representatives:
Head of Council
Chairman of The Primary Control Group (City Manager)
Chief of Police Service (Chief Designate)
Chief of Fire Services
Medical Officer of Health
Assistant Medical Co-ordinator
Media Co-ordinator
Community Emergency Management Co-ordinator (CEMC)
City Clerk
Director of Community Services
Chief of the Aamjiwnaang of Sarnia
Industrial Advisor (when requested from CVECO)
City Engineer
The City of Sarnia Emergency Response Plan is now
available online to over 55 Primary and Secondary key individuals. The City’s
Emergency Plan is designed as a generic plan to respond to a variety of
emergency situations. It is not meant to anticipate every possible risk, but to
develop systematic procedures that will provide an effective response both to
the foreseen and unforeseen emergency. The City’s Emergency Plan is designed to
work in co-operation with City Department contingency plans, local industrial
plans (CVECO),
other municipal plans, and with upper tiered Government Emergency Plans (EMO).
